Julie and her Flying Crocodile

written and illustrated by Sisi Wu, inspired by her true story

On the first day of school, little Julie feels "disliked" by her classmates — they don’t like her drawing of a flying crocodile! Not knowing how to cope with the emotions, she gets lost worrying about what others think of her. But with the help of her teacher Miss Collins, Julie learns that what she likes is more important than what others think.

In the real story of the illustrator, no one came to help her. She wrote and drew this story in the hopes of giving children like her a book they can see themselves in and help them to find their inner values.

Sisi Wu is an illustrator from China. She loves drawing with expressive brush strokes as well as delicate pencil lines. She’s always looking for new ways to make her readers laugh (or cry). When she’s not drawing, she can be found running along the Thames River embankment. She wants to have a dog in the future.
